Donna M. Robertelli

47, Bloomingdale

Seamstress/florist

Cook of the Week: Sept. 21, 2005

What is your favorite ingredient and how do you like to use it? Fiore brand extra virgin olive oil. I like to use it on vegetables, in cooking with chicken and fish. It is bold and full of flavor but without any heaviness. It is wonderful with fresh garlic, salt and pepper. It absolutely goes with everything.

Describe your style or approach to cooking. I love to cook and love to feed people. My main style is make everything from scratch. It’s not hard if you have everything in your home.

Why do you want to be part of the Cook of the Week Challenge? If you know me, you know I cook. I love to cook. If I have an event, I find everyone shows up just because of the food. I love to try new things, I enjoy making up recipes and also love baking. I have a friend that I make a little extra food for and send it home with her. She calls me and hums while she is eating my food because she says it is so good.
