Make tollway part of IDOT

The recent decision by the toll authority board to practically double the tolls displayed the undemocratic procedure for making rate hikes.

The tollway board proposed this increase and a few weeks later voted to implement the increases.

The governor had given them the authority to raise tolls without restrictions.

The public should contact state officials and demand the toll road system be made a part of the Illinois Department of Transportation.
