Skokie man charged with possession, theft in Buffalo Grove

A Skokie man was charged Saturday with theft and possession of ecstasy and cannabis after allegedly taking merchandise from a grocery store in Buffalo Grove. Prosecutors said Buffalo Grove police responded to a call on Friday at the Dominick’s Finer Foods on Buffalo Grove Road involving a theft. Police apprehended Roman A. Egorov, 23, of LaCrosse Avenue, who gave permission for the officers to inspect his car, according to reports. There, officers found a bag with about 2.5 grams of cannabis and another with about 30 ecstasy pills, both testing positive, prosecutors said. Egorov, a student at Columbia College, was charged with retail theft of merchandise valued under $300 and, possession of a controlled substance of cannabis, both misdemeanors, and possession of a controlled substance, ecstasy, a felony. Cook County circuit court Judge Donna Phelps Felton ordered him to pay $5,000 bond and to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Sept. 22 in Room 108 at the courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
