Group sending its own liberal message

I was surprised to see so much coverage of Rep. Joe Walsh’s alleged delinquency in making child support payments by 20 protesters at his office from the inappropriately named “Catholics United” group. That name is an oxymoron.

Catholics United not only does not represent the views of the Catholic Church nor are they “united” with other Catholics. They stand for everything the Catholic Church is against. To name a few: Catholics are pro-life; they are pro-abortion. Catholics are pro-marriage, believing it is a sacrament between a man and a woman; they degrade marriage saying it can be homosexual. Catholics believe in their religious beliefs being respected; yet CU wonders why Catholics should protest an “art” expo at the Smithsonian showing a crucifix covered in ants and other inappropriate images.

CU is nothing more than a radical left-wing front group that has tried to hijack the Catholic religion as a way of getting their agenda out. They use partisan political rhetoric to promote causes such as public worker unions and socialized health care. They imply the Rep. Gabby Giffords shooting was somehow politically motivated.

It is quite telling that the image on their Facebook page is that of a clenched left fist, a universal symbol for Marxists and Communists. People need to remain vigilant and lookout for wolves in sheep’s clothing. Their brand of liberation theology was condemned by Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II. CU is certainly one of those types of organizations.

Back to Joe Walsh, it is obvious by the timing of this protest (over allegations levied eight months ago) that the real intention here is to try to denigrate him and take him out of the budget battle, which he has been very active in. Don’t be distracted.
