Daily Herald report

The first day of school at Madison Elementary School in Lombard meant an extra-special recess.

A new, $50,000 playground welcomed students back to school Wednesday.

The playground was financed with $10,000 from the school's parent-teacher association and $40,000 from funds overseen by Principal Larry Piatak.
