Tea party won, but America lost

I hope the Republicans and tea partyers enjoyed their brief Pyrrhic victory of no tax increase for the rich and the corporations. They won the game of “chicken” they played with the Democrats, but the American people lost — as did American prestige, honor and reputation. The interest rate increases that will reportedly result from the downgrade of America’s credit rating will result in Americans having even less money to spend to revive this economy — another nail in the coffin of job creation, increased tax revenues, debt payoff, etc.

I sincerely hope all Americans remember this debacle in November 2012 and vote out of office every politician who was more concerned about “winning” the game so they had their “issue” for next year’s primaries and pushing the ideological agenda than doing what was best for the country.
