Mundelein freshman places at business competition

Submitted by Ron Girard

Mundelein High School freshman Steven Chin placed fifth at the Future Business Leaders of America national competition in Orlando, Fla., recently.

Chin competed against about 130 other top business students in the country in an event called “Introduction to Technology Concepts,” where students showed their knowledge of computers and other technology.

“Number five of 130 is an incredible accomplishment, especially for a freshman,” said FBLA adviser Chris Hoster. “He is an outstanding competitor, and he shows great potential for the future as well.”

The national competition attracts more than 8,000 of the best business students in the country with various events, including accounting, computer technology, public speaking and leadership.

FBLA is the largest student business organization in the world. MHS members compete in events, operate the Mustang Nation Spirit Store, complete volunteerism projects and attend leadership training seminars.
