Hit the summer party scene with Lindenfest

Lindenhurst is about to throw its annual four-day party.

As usual, Lindenfest will be on the village hall and U.S. Postal Service property at 2301 E. Sand Lake Road.

This year's event will launch at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, and run until 10 p.m. Highlights of the evening will include a carnival, bingo and the Miss Lindenhurst pageant.

On Friday, Aug. 12, the fiesta will run from 6 p.m. to midnight. Along with the carnival and bingo, Lindenfest visitors will have a chance to see two bands.

Classic rock band Awful Truth will go onstage at 7 p.m., followed by country rock with Mighty Short Bus at 9 p.m.

At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, the Lindenfest parade will step off at Beck and Rolling Ridge roads and conclude at Sand Lake and Valley roads.

Festival grounds will open at noon and run to midnight, with the carnival and bingo back for a third day. Acoustic band Small Potatoes will be first on stage at 5 p.m., followed by island music by Johnny Rustler & the Beach Bum Band at 7 p.m. and classic rock from Supernaut at 9:30 p.m.

Lindenfest's finale will run from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. Options will include the carnival and bingo, along with a battle of the bands competition.
