Coroner: Man drowned in Duck Lake, not suspicious

Lake County coroner officials said an Ingleside man found dead in Duck Lake on Sunday was reported missing and endangered by the Fox Lake Police Department 24 hours earlier.

The autopsy performed Monday determined Vladimir Taraday, 65, who resided near the lake, drowned, said Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey.

“There was no other trauma to the body,” Yancey said, adding that foul play is not suspected.

Fox Lake fire officials said Taraday was discovered in a weed bed by a fisherman about 3 p.m. Sunday.

“It looked like he was on a fishing boat and he went overboard somehow,” said Lake County Sheriff's Police Sgt. Timothy Jonites.

The Fox Lake Fire Protection District pulled the body from the lake and took it to shore, where it was turned over to the Lake County coroner's office. Yancey said the official time of death was listed as 5:10 p.m.

Fox Lake police are working with the Lake County sheriff's office to investigate the death.
