Kids can take the Elk Grove Challenge

Adults ages 14 and older and youth ages 7 to 13 are signing up for the Elk Grove Challenge to be held Saturday, Aug. 13. The Challenge is three race events on one day sponsored by the Elk Grove Park District and Parkway Bank.

There is the Foundation 5, a five kilometer race starting at 7 a.m.; a Super Sprint Tri which is an adult triathlon starting at 7:30 a.m., with a minimum age of 14; and a Kids Fun Tri, for ages 7 to 13, start time for the Fun Tri is 8:30 a.m. Registration is being taken online at www.runrace.net.

The Elk Grove Challenge is a great way for all levels of athletes to compete. The 5-K and Super Sprint Tri athletes will be chip timed. The course will take place in and around the Jack A. Claes Pavilion at 1000 Wellington Ave., in Elk Grove Village. The swim portion of the challenge will be at the Pavilion pools. The biking begins 901 Leicester Road and continues through the neighborhood streets in the area.
