Body pulled from Duck Lake

An unidentified man's body was pulled from a lake Sunday afternoon in Fox Lake, fire officials said.

About 3 p.m. a fisherman out on Duck Lake called police and fire officials after spotting a man's body floating in weeds on the side of the lake, Fox Lake Fire Battalion Chief Tom Preidis said.

According to Preidis, the body was visible from nearby Longwood Drive.

It didn't take long for firefighters to pull the body from the lake. Preidis would only say that the body had been in the water for “awhile.”

Cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy by the Lake County coroner.

Lake County sheriff's office is currently conducting an investigation and had no further information.
