Roskam more interested in making Obama look bad

Dear Congressman Roskam, I stand with the president in asking you to support a balanced approach to deficit reduction, one that includes spending cuts and revenue increases. I don't believe cuts only is fair or balanced. I believe subsidies to oil companies and tax loopholes for corporate jet owners are tax expenditures, and if eliminated, will not only raise revenue, but cut spending.

You say we have a spending problem, not a revenue problem. We do have a revenue problem. You and your fellow Congress members are hired by your constituents with our votes. Unfortunately, the one with the most money always gets the most votes, and when you get to Washington, you pay back your donors by protecting their tax breaks.

I believe you and the rest of GOP in House and Senate are not as interested in deficit reduction as you are in defeating President Obama in 2012. Please prove me wrong.
