Proper terms should be used

Is it a policy of the Daily Herald to print verbatim from news releases? I refer to the July 14 “Northwest suburbs in 60 seconds” column that used the Pro-Life Action League’s term “aborted babies.” Since abortions are legal up to 24 weeks of pregnancy, the correct term is embryo or fetus. Late-term abortions are performed so rarely — 1 percent after 21 weeks — and with great sorrow by families due to the danger of death or health impairment to the mother, that they are minuscule in number. In either case embryos or fetuses are not able to sustain life on their own.

I object strongly to the politically/religiously inspired term aborted babies.
