Elgin

• A DVD player installed in a 2000 Dodge Grand Voyager was taken when the vehicle was ransacked between 11 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday while it was parked in the 100 block of Cherry Street in Elgin, according to police reports.

• An iPod Touch was taken sometime between 5 p.m. July 18 and 9 a.m. July 19 where it was left overnight in an office in the 1700 block of North Randall Road in Elgin, according to police reports.

• A cellphone was taken sometime between 7 and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday from someone dining at Big Skillet Restaurant, 90 Tyler Creek Plaza in Elgin, according to police reports. The cellphone owner said she wasn't sure if the phone was stolen from her purse or if she left it on the table during the meal, reports said.
