Daily Herald staff report

An armed robber stole $50 from the Mobil gas station, 3005 E. Rand Road in Arlington Heights, police said. The man, described as a white male in his 20s and wearing a black bandanna over the lower part of his face, pointed a black pistol in the face of the 19-year-old male clerk and demanded money around 2:10 p.m. Saturday.

He handed the victim a small white plastic bag and the clerk put the money inside. The robber told him and a second male clerk to call police in 10 minutes. A witness saw a man matching the robber's description run through Prospect Meadows Park in Mount Prospect and flee in a black Volvo sedan.
