Program on bats Saturday at Volo Bog

A program on bats is set for 6:50 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Volo Bog State Natural Area on Brandenburg Road off Route 12 between routes 120 and 134, Ingleside. Volo Bog is home to the largest known maternity colony of little brown bats in Illinois. The program begins with a video and talk at the Visitor Center, then caravans to the site's famous bat barn. Participants should bring lawn chairs and mosquito repellent (please don't pre-apply it — leave it, and the chairs, in the car).
