Burglars target cars in Buffalo Grove

Several purses and other items were stolen last week during five vehicle burglaries at athletic fields and fitness clubs in Buffalo Grove, police said.

Two of the break-ins occurred July 21 and three happened July 23, according to police. In each instances valuables were left visible from the outside, police said.

“If (vehicle owners are) going to leave things in their car of value hide them somewhere else, or in the trunk or somewhere where somebody can’t just look in the window and see purses and other valuables,” said Buffalo Grove police Cmdr. Steve Husak. “Or, take them with them if they’re going to leave their car.”
