Mt. Prospect Friday concert is acoustic ensemble

The band, Not Too Far From the Tree, will perform at Mount Prospect’s Friday Concert on the Green at 6 p.m. July 29 on the Village Green in front of village hall, 50 S. Emerson Street.

Not Too Far From the Tree is a fiery acoustic roots ensemble with a repertoire that ranges from traditional bluegrass to their own take on songs by pop/rock artists like Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, Lyle Lovett, the Beatles and the Allman Brothers. This band will entertain with their eclectic mix of music from different branches of the music tree.

Concertgoers are asked to bring a blanket or chair for seating on the green. Pick up dinner and share a picnic, or plan to attend one of downtown Mount Prospect’s restaurants before or after the show.

Stick around after the concert for the Historical Society’s Stadtmitte “History Crawl” Event — registration also takes place on the Village Green.

The Friday events are a partnership between the village of Mount Prospect, Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association. Visit experiencemountprospect.org.
