25 arrested in Elgin warrant sweep

Elgin police have released most of the names of those arrested during a warrant sweep Thursday that targeted suspected drug dealers.

During the joint sweep, the Elgin Police Department and U.S. Marshals executed a total of 35 warrants that resulted in 25 arrests on drug charges, ranging from misdemeanor possession to felony charges for selling drugs near schools, churches or parks, police said.

Those charged in the warrant sweep include:

Ÿ Eddie Bartee, unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church or park; unlawful manufacture, distribute, advertise or possess with intent to manufacture or distribute.

Ÿ Kevin Cooper, unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church or park; unlawful manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Ÿ Christina Deraedt, two counts of unlawful manufacture/delivery of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine; and one count of unlawful manufacture/delivery of 15 to 100 grams of cocaine.

Ÿ Eric Grens, two counts of unlawful manufacture/delivery of 15 to 100 grams of LSD.

Ÿ Julius Hinton, unlawful manufacture/delivery of 10 to 30 grams of cannabis.

Ÿ James Johnson, unlawful manufacture/delivery of 15 to 100 grams of cocaine.

Ÿ Timothy Klaras, three counts of unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church or park; unlawful manufacture/delivery of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine.

Ÿ Robert L. Lee, unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church/ or park; unlawful manufacture/delivery of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine.

Ÿ Devonte Mahone, unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church or park; unlawful manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Ÿ Sandra Moreno, unlawful manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Ÿ Anthony Passantino, unlawful manufacture/delivery of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine; unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church or park.

Ÿ Leo Perez, unlawful possession of under 2.5 grams of cannabis.

Ÿ Robert Robbins, unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church or park; unlawful manufacture, distribute, advertise or possess with intent to manufacture or distribute; unlawful manufacture/delivery of 10 to 30 grams of cannabis.

Ÿ Eugene Sims, unlawful manufacture/delivery of 15 to 100 grams of LSD; unlawful delivery/possession with intent, within 1,000 feet of a school, church or park; unlawful manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Ÿ Willie Teague, unlawful manufacture/delivery of under 2.5 grams of cannabis.

Ÿ Myrance Thomas, unlawful manufacture/delivery of 15 to 100 grams of cocaine.

Ÿ Marcus Wilder, unlawful manufacture/delivery of 10 to 30 grams of cannabis.

Ÿ Edgar Zamora, unlawful possession of 2.5 to 10 grams of cannabis; unlawful manufacture/delivery of 2.5 to 10 grams of cannabis.

Others charged in the drug sweep were juveniles.

Those names were not released, officials said.
