Waukegan man found dead in Menominee County, Wis.

A 45-year-old Waukegan man was found dead after a two-day search on Legend Lake in Menominee County, Wisconsin, officials said.

The body of Donald B. Keenan was found washed up on shore Wednesday morning after the man disappeared below the surface of the lake while swimming Monday afternoon, authorities said.

According to reports, Keenan did not surface while swimming in the lake, near the Blue Heron and Silver Canoe Additions of Legend Lake.

Divers responded to the area after Keenan disappeared below the surface at 2:42 p.m. Monday and searched for two days, but called off the search Tuesday night after Keenan’s body was not recovered.

An off-duty sheriff deputy who came in to work to assist in the search spotted the body Wednesday morning, and contacted the Menominee County medical examiner’s office.

The medical examiner’s office called the drowning an accident, and no autopsy has been scheduled.
