Which side of mouth do you believe?

This July, out of one side of their mouths, Republicans are demanding spending cuts. Out of the voting side of their mouths, in control of the House, they increased the military budget by $17 billion over its currently level. Maybe they did not get the memo that there is a pending troop drawdown, or more likely, they need to assure their important campaign donating, government contractors get their paybacks.

One Democrat, Lipinski joined the Illinois Republican representatives Roskam, Walsh, Dold, Kinzinger, Biggert, Hultgren, Manzullo, Schilling, Schock and Shimkus who all voted yea for this $17 billion increase, according to www.govtrack.us.

Which side of their mouths do they want us to believe? Remember this at the August town hall meetings when they whitewash their motives and votes hoping you believe that they are serving your best interests by tweaking Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

Ask them if they plan to add the $17 billion military budget increase to the budget reductions for other agencies, which will hit food aid for low-income women, health research, energy efficiency, etc.

Ask if they will cut subsidies for Big Oil, Big Ag. Ask if they will work to reform the tax code to tax everyone fairly so those with the least do not carry the burden for those with the most.
