Hampshire Township man killed in rollover crash

A Hampshire Township man was killed early Friday when he rolled over his Ford pickup on a rural road in Burlington Township, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Department.

Scott Row, 31, of Widmayer Road, was found dead in his 2008 white Ford on the east side of Burlington Road, Sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Gengler said.

He said officers were called at 4:30 a.m. to Burlington Road near Romke Road in unincorporated Burlington Township for a traffic crash with injuries.

Upon arrival, he said. deputies discovered the pickup had rolled over off the road, and Row was pronounced dead by Burlington EMS, Gengler said.

Gengler said Row was partially ejected from the cab of the pickup, and was not wearing a seat belt.

The investigation, which necessitated closing the road for two hours, indicated Row was traveling north on Burlington and left the roadway on the east side of the road, Gengler said.

Deputies located several beer cans at the scene, he said, but it is unknown if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

Gengler said the crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
