Rolling Meadows duck race on July 16

A $500 cash prize awaits the winner of the fourth annual Duck Race, an event sponsored by the Rolling Meadows Environmental Committee, Rolling Meadows Rotary Club and the Rolling Meadows Park District Foundation, at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 16.

The event, which coincides with the annual Terry Moran Softball Tournament, raises funds to support environmental preservation efforts throughout Rolling Meadows.

The race will be along a section of Salt Creek that stretches from the Kimball Hill Park Bridge to the Kirchoff Road Bridge.

Tickets for the event (one ticket per duck) are $5 each, or buy a “Quack Pack” of five tickets for $20.

Purchase tickets on the day of the event, or in advance at the Rolling Meadows Community Center, 3705 Pheasant Drive; and city hall, 3600 Kirchoff Road.

Additional prizes will be awarded to runners-up. For more information call the public works department, (847) 963-0500, or the park district, (847) 818-3200.
