Limit overtime and watch the jobs grow

Right now Congress is considering giving employers tax breaks for hiring additional employees. It’s a nice idea, but it doesn’t solve the problem of more jobs. What is needed, in my opinion, is a new government stand on overtime for existing employees. You can’t take on more employees if there’s no solid job to put them into.

A policy to restrict employers from using overtime to maintain production levels is needed. Penalties and taxes on employers would help to reduce overtime. Without overtime, additional employees would be needed. Right now employees pay a higher payroll tax on overtime income. This is wrong. If we create new jobs by limiting overtime, some employees will complain but more will benefit.
