Local group offers presentation, video on AA

A local A.A. group is holding a free public presentation to describe its program of recovery from the disease of alcoholism 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at the Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court St., Palatine.

The presentation will feature "Hope: Alcoholics Anonymous." This video explains the principles of A.A.: what A.A. is and isn't, its primary purpose, sponsorship, home group, the Steps and Traditions, and basic recovery tools. The video is closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired.

This event is sponsored by the Monday Night Big Book Study Group. The group meets 7 p.m. every Monday at the Presbyterian Church of Palatine, 800 E. Palatine Road, Palatine. Anyone who has a desire to stop drinking is invited to come.
