Local group offers presentation, video on AA

A local A.A. group is holding a free public presentation to describe its program of recovery from the disease of alcoholism 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at the Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court St., Palatine.

The presentation will feature “Hope: Alcoholics Anonymous.” This video explains the principles of A.A.: what A.A. is and isn’t, its primary purpose, sponsorship, home group, the Steps and Traditions, and basic recovery tools. The video is closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired.

The meeting will also include a question-and-answer session, free literature and refreshments. Anyone interested in learning more about A.A. is welcome to attend.

This event is sponsored by the Monday Night Big Book Study Group. The group meets 7 p.m. every Monday at the Presbyterian Church of Palatine, 800 E. Palatine Road, Palatine. Anyone who has a desire to stop drinking is invited to come.
