Youths approached in Mt. Prospect, Arlington

Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights police have reported men engaging in suspicious behavior in approaching youths.

Mount Prospect police said a man between 35 and 45 years old driving a full-size white pickup truck followed a high school senior as she walked home around 11 a.m. Monday. He followed her southbound on Hi Lusi Avenue, eastbound on Milburn Avenue and southbound on Elmhurst Avenue. She stopped at St. Raymond's Catholic Church, 300 S. Elmhurst Ave., where the man asked her if she needed a ride. She refused and entered the church and waited until she was sure the pickup truck was gone, then ran to her home on the 500 block of South Pine Street and told her father. The driver was described as having a medium build, possibly bald or thinning hair and wearing a blue shirt.

On Saturday, Arlington Heights police said, a naked man, described in his 20s with brown balding hair and glasses and holding a green towel at his waist, got out of a red Chevrolet Malibu at Kirchoff Road and Mitchell Avenue about 8:45 p.m., walked up to a lemonade stand belonging to an 11-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy and asked them for a cup of lemonade. He drank the juice, got back into his car and drove north on Mitchell as another motorist drove up and kept an eye on him.
