Long Grove club to host garden walk

The Long Grove-Kildeer Garden Club Garden Walk will be held from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, July 11, to benefit local student internships in landscaping and maintenance of the Reed Turner Woodland in Long Grove, as well as other local charities.

Four notable area gardens will be open for the club’s popular garden tour, followed by an elegant boxed lunch. Wander through a combination of unique perennial, annual, and native garden designs, including hundreds of varieties of hostas.

Reservations are required. The cost is $25 ($20 without lunch). Check-in, map and directions will be at the club’s meeting location, Reed-Turner Woodland Nature Center, 3849 Old McHenry Road, in Long Grove.

This is an open event, welcome to all who are interested; car pooling encouraged. The club welcomes new or old gardeners of any level and is active with many fun gardening-related activities. For required reservations and further information, call Gerri at (847) 550-6292.
