Woman pleads guilty to salon burglaries

A Mount Prospect woman who police say attempted to burglarize three suburban salons last month has pleaded guilty to the charges.

A Cook County judge sentenced Deanna Soper, 35, to 18 months probation and ordered her to pay $120 in restitution.

Police say Soper, and co-defendant Erin J. Fidler, 33, of Oak Park, engaged in the one-day burglary spree last month. They say one of the woman distracted an Arlington Heights tanning salon employee while the other tried to sneak behind the counter and steal the employee’s wallet. Police say the women tried the same ruse on employees at a Mount Prospect tanning salon and a separate Mount Prospect beauty salon.

Fidler next appears in court on July 14.
