Sugar Grove Public Library summer filled with fun events

The Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 S. Municipal Drive, has a variety of fun-filled events planned for your families to celebrate Summer Reading. Everything from movies for kids, to sword fighting knights, to a sock hop for adults there is something for everyone.

Registration for Summer Reading begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 11. Opening day is always a special day with fun events, special guests and prizes. Registration for the weekly and community events also begin on this day. Some restrictions do apply so check the details carefully.

This year, the library will have guest authors for children and teens to visit with and find out about some neat books to read this summer. You might even win a free copy of an author's book.

Special guests will be Andalusian horses that will demonstrate their magnificent riding techniques outside on the lawn on the fire station side of the library at 11 a.m.

The cafe will have specially priced hot dogs, grilled outside, weather permitting or inside if inclement weather. A kid's meal with a small kid size hot dog and chips will be $2.50, tax included and for adults, enjoy a hot dog and chips from Reams Elburn Market for $3.50, tax included.

If you can't make it to the library on opening day, you can still sign up for summer reading anytime after that. Don't miss out on the fun this summer. Come to the Sugar Grove Library and enjoy a Midsummer Knight's Read!

Library card registration is available every day the library is open. Bring photo ID and another item to show of residency, i.e.(check book, utility bill, car insurance). For those younger than 18, a parent must be present and also have a library card. Card registration ends daily 15 minutes before the library closes.
