Bartlett condo damaged during kitchen fire

A kitchen fire inside a Bartlett condo caused about $45,000 in damages Sunday night, officials said.

Firefighters responded about 6 p.m. to the condo unit on the 700 block of Thornbury Road and had the minor fire under control within three minutes, according to the Bartlett Fire Protection District.

The first crews at the scene saw smoke and a “moderate” fire on the stovetop and cabinets in the kitchen, officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, and crews were able to contain it to the kitchen, according to the fire district.

Fire officials estimated the damage to the property at $35,000, and to the contents at $10,000.
