Detector alerts residents to Bartlett fire

A minor fire caused about $35,000 in damage to a Bartlett home early Sunday morning, according to officials.

Residents of a home on the 900 block of Rosewood Court called 911 at about 3:17 a.m. to report a fire that was melting siding near an electrical meter on the house, according to the Bartlett Fire Protection District.

Firefighters noticed smoke coming from under the siding and pulled the siding off the two-story home to get to the fire, officials said.

The residents of the house were alerted to the fire by a carbon-monoxide detector, according to fire officials.

Investigators said the cause of the fire was electrical.
