Streamwood trustee: Thank you for chance to serve

Last fall, I announced I would not be seeking re-election as Streamwood village trustee in 2011. It was not an easy decision as public service means a great deal to me. I have long said I am not a career politician, but a businessman who will draw upon my experience to help our village tighten its belt and become a more open, transparent unit of government.

Since my first election in 2007 as your trustee, I have offered a number of common-sense solutions that provided more accountability to our local government, saved precious taxpayer dollars, improved the quality of life for the residents of Streamwood and made strides to reduce our ongoing crime challenges. I have done my best to apply my business background to our local government to make sure your taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and have been dedicated towards a smart redevelopment plan focused on our future while growing our open space so Streamwood families can live, work and play in a safe and vibrant community.

I wish to thank my supporters, elected officials, my friends and family who supported me over the years, especially the residents of Streamwood who gave me this wonderful opportunity to serve them the last three years.

Over the next few years, I will be focusing on growing my family business and spending more time dedicated to my role as husband and father. I have been an active community and business leader committed to improving the quality of life for Streamwood residents. I will do the same in my private life for many years to come.

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve.
