America needs people like immigrant brothers

Thank you for sharing the story of Carlos and Rafael Robles, the two young men from Palatine who face deportation unless DHS allows them to stay. In today’s polarized immigration debate, the fact that immigrants are usually hard-working individuals seeking the American dream is often lost. I am dismayed that during a fiscal crisis and economic difficulties, our government is spending time and resources to remove these two brothers. Their education, intelligence, and character make them exactly the kind of people we need to keep our regional and national economy strong and our budgets solvent.
