If you like to bowl, you may as well do it for charity.
Carpentersville's improvement commission is putting together a candlelight bowl to raise money for its ongoing projects that involve adopting a block to keep clean, a graffiti deterrence program and an annual paint-a-thon.
The fundraiser will be April 29 at Liberty Lanes in Carpentersville. Registration starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the games at 7:30 p.m. Fire Chief John Schuldt has agreed to emcee the event.
The catered dinner will include chicken, beef, salads, mostaccioli and cake.
Besides bowling, you'll also have a chance to win a piece of $2,100 in donated raffle prizes, which include half the money raised that night, a round of golf, a Mary Kay gift basket and a custom bedspread worth $250.
Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple to participate. Your ticket covers four games of bowling, dinner, a raffle ticket for the bed spread and bowling shoe rental.
