Child ‘tapped’ by car in Lombard

A vehicle struck a 6-year-old child in Lombard Friday night, but the child was only “tapped” and was not injured, according to Lombard police.

The car was traveling near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Main Street around 8 p.m. when the driver noticed the child. The car bumped the child, who fell but got up, police said.

Medical attention was refused, and no citations were issued.
