4 face prison after attempt to recover stolen drugs, police say

A drug deal gone bad could land four men in prison for breaking into a Carpentersville home to retrieve an ounce of marijuana, according to reports.

Police arrested four men Sunday night after a resident in the 300 block of Four Winds Way on the village's west side called authorities at 6:14 p.m. Sunday to report a break-in in progress.

Police arrested two men outside the home and two more inside, also finding two loaded revolvers, one of which as reported stolen.

No one was hurt in the break-in and no shots were fired, but all four men arrested were charged with home invasion, a felony that carries a six- to 30-year prison term without the possibility of probation.

Carpentersville Police Cmdr. Timothy Bosshart said investigators learned the episode was prompted by an apparent drug deal between the resident and Johnny D. Lesure-Glasper, 25, of the 1100 block of Apple Lane, Elgin, earlier that day.

The 17-year-old ran off with an ounce of marijuana without paying and Glasper and others drove by the home several times later that night, Bosshart said.

“Apparently, these (guys) got together and decided ‘Let's get our stuff back,'” he said.

The resident called police from his basement as two armed men walked around inside.

According to police: Glasper was charged with home invasion, armed violence and criminal trespass to residence. Edgar J. Sametio, 22, of the 2000 block of Berkshire Circle, Carpentersville, was charged with home invasion, criminal trespass and resisting arrest and was Tasered by officers. Franklin Alrich Jr., 25, of the 200 block of Waverly, Carpentersville, was charged with home invasion, criminal trespass, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, aggravated battery to a police officer and aggravated resisting arrest. Bosshart said Alrich tried to choke an officer. Derell D. Howse, 20, of the 0-99 block of North Grove Street, Carpentersville, was charged with home invasion, criminal trespass, illegal possession of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a stolen firearm. Howse and Aldridge are accused of entering the home while armed and Aldridge had on a ski mask and gloves, Bosshart said.

Bail for each of the four men was set at $500,000 Tuesday and they are all due in court on March 24.
