Robinson for Des Plaines Ward 2

Daily Herald Editorial Board

In Des Plaines Ward 2, incumbent John Robinson is an easy choice for another term. Robinson, who was appointed to the seat after Marty Moylan was elected mayor two years ago, voices sound positions on issues facing the city, is informed and is proud of progress in upgrading the businesses on Oakton Street. He wants to use half the casino revenue to buy down city debt and half to add to financial reserves. Steve Antonoff, a perennial candidate for the seat, is an avid follower of city government, but doesn’t offer persuasive arguments for why he would be a better choice than Robinson.
