Walsten for Des Plaines Ward 6

Mark Walsten, whose Sixth Ward includes the area where a casino is under construction, doesn’t face credible competition for the seat. Mario Palacios hasn’t returned phone calls since being charged with impersonating a government official. Richard Hissong deserves credit for showing the gumption to file as a write-in candidate after he was removed from the ballot for not having enough signatures on his nominating petition. Walsten seems to genuinely enjoy solving problems for people in his ward and has been the council leader on environmental issues.
