Family: I have been married for 61 years to my wife Viola. I have four children and 7 grandchildren.

Occupation: Retired

Education: Attended Depaul University for 2 years.

Civic involvement: I have been a Rolling Meadows resident for 52 years. I have been the past chairman of the board of police and fire commission. I served on the zoning board of appeals, and economic development committee/ code ordinance review committee/ vehicle replacement committee. I also served as city welfare officer, and I was the past president of the Rolling Meadows Little League Baseball. Lastly I was the Liaison officer for the Rolling Meadows Library. I am currently a member of the American Legion Post number 0690.

Elected offices held: Alderman for 18 years. 12 years from 1994-2006. 6 years 1958-1964.

What makes you the best candidate for the job?

The many years of experience that I have and my love for Rolling Meadows.

Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.

In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?
