Batavia assistant administrator heads to Clarendon Hills

Batavia Assistant City Administrator Randy Recklaus is leaving to take a job as village manager of Clarendon Hills.

Recklaus begins his new position Feb. 28.

He has been Batavia’s assistant administrator since 2000. He has overseen the human resources department, including working on negotiations with unions.

He was the project manager for the city’s financial sustainability project in 2009, studying all revenues, expenditures and city operations, resulting in a savings of $1 million annually. He also worked on economic development, particularly on projects for downtown Batavia.

“Council, staff, residents and businesses of Batavia will greatly miss Randy and his sense of humor and work ethic. We are proud of him on this professional accomplishment and wish him all the best on this new endeavor,” Mayor Jeffery Schielke said in a prepared statement.
