Cops: S. Elgin man goes wild at Buffalo Wild Wings

A South Elgin man was accused Sunday of hitting another man in the face with a glass while the two argued about whose school is better, police said.

Police say the altercation occurred around 11 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill in the 400 block of Randall Road and ended with the arrest of Kevin M. Page.

Page, 36, of the 0-99 block of North Collins Street, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery in a public place β€” both felonies β€” and misdemeanor criminal damage to property, a report said.

Police say the pair met for the first time Sunday night and talked about bikes and schools.

β€œAnd then at one point, the defendant started arguing about whose school was better and that's what started the fight,” said South Elgin Sgt. Mike Doty, adding that he had no other details on the beef, including the identity of the schools.

Page pushed a bar stool and flung it at the bar, then grabbed a glass for a 23-ounce beer and hit the other man in the face with it, Doty said. The man sustained minor scrapes and did not require medical attention.

Page's bail was set at $20,000 and he is due in court Jan. 28 at the Kane County Judicial Center. If found guilty of one of the felonies, he could spend between two and five years in prison.
