Inspiration takes flight for photographer
Sometimes as a photographer, you have no idea what you might see that's worthy of a picture or where you might see it. You just have to keep your eyes open and your camera at the ready.
Other times, a little reconnaissance will give you an idea where to point the lens.
The Daily Herald's DuPage Bureau is right along I-88 in Lisle. As I've headed to and from the office on various assignments, I've noticed that red-tailed hawks seem to hang out in the trees near the tollway between Lisle and Warrenville.
This was my recon.
I got my chance recently walking to my car in the office parking lot. As I headed across the blacktop, I spotted a hawk sitting in a tree along the highway.
After I took a few shots of him sitting in a tree, he decided our photo session was over. He took flight, heading westbound for his next destination and leaving me with a beautiful image to share.
