Villa Park man faces robbery charges

A 51-year-old Villa Park man has been arrested and charged in connection with a string of three robberies in the past week.

Steven E. Anderson faces charges of one count of aggravated robbery and two counts of robbery, all felonies, Villa Park Police announced Friday.

Last Saturday, a clerk at the 7-11 Citgo Gas Station, 340 W. St. Charles Road, told police a suspect matching Anderson's description implied he had a weapon and took money from the cash register at 8:34 a.m.

Police said on Tuesday, Anderson pushed away a clerk from the counter area of the Cigarette Center, 133 W. Roosevelt Road, and took money from the register at 1:50 p.m. A witness told police Anderson fled in a gold van, and reported a license plate number.

Later that day at 6:41 p.m., Anderson is alleged to have demanded Oxycotin pills from a pharmacist at Walgreens, 200 E. Roosevelt Road, while implying he had a weapon.

Anderson awaits a bond court hearing at the DuPage County jail.
