Streamwood fire causes $100K in damages

text size: AAA

Emergency crews evacuated one person from a Wednesday morning house fire in Streamwood that caused about $100,000 in damage.

Another person was outside when firefighters arrived, but neither required medical treatment, the Streamwood Fire Department said. Firefighters blame an electrical generator for causing the blaze.

Crews responded to a 10:30 a.m. call to a one-and-a-half story home on the 0-100 block of Petrie Circle. The back of the house and attic were burning, and the fire significantly damaged the roof and two bedrooms. Crews estimated damage at $100,000, fire officials said.

Crews from Bartlett, East Dundee, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg and South Elgin assisted Streamwood firefighters.
