Batavia mayor joins in Books Between Bites discussion

Batavia's Books Between Bites welcomes Batavia's Mayor Jeff Schielke to its program at noon Thursday, Nov. 18, at Batavia Public Library. The mayor will continue sharing his discoveries in literature, both new and old, which feature Batavia and Batavians. A special feature this year is a more detailed discussion of the appearances of the legendary Oke G. Pamp. The tall, Swedish, “Bohemian Batavian” was a champion of barbed letters to the editor.

The public is welcomed to this free hourlong program held in the community room at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. Parking is available in the lot just south and adjacent to the library. People are invited to bring their lunch to eat as they enjoy the program and discussion. Food and beverages are available for sale from 10 South Coffee House, in the library. Lunch also can be preordered and available for pickup just before the program by calling (630) 406-8870.

For information about Books Between Bites, call program director Betty Moorehead at (630) 879-4426. The current season schedule can be found at the website booksbetweenbites.com.
