Vernon Hills teen receives jail time for resisting officer
A Cook County Circuit Court judge recently sentenced 19-year-old Giovannie Bahena to 90 days in Cook County jail in exchange for his guilty plea to resisting a police officer and criminal trespass to property.
The sentence followed an August incident in which police encountered the Vernon Hills teen holding a beer at a house party in Prospect Heights. Bahena fled the scene but was arrested several weeks later at the Wimbledon Estates Complex, which authorities said he had been warned to avoid.
