Man attacks woman with stun gun in Downers Grove

A Downers Grove woman was assaulted in her apartment by a man armed with a stun gun Monday morning.

The woman, who lives in the Bristol Club Apartments on the 5800 block of Walnut Avenue, was attacked after a man tricked her into letting him into her apartment about 11 a.m. Monday, according to police.

The victim told police that a man approached her outside of her apartment and claimed to know her family. After talking for a few minutes, she went to enter her apartment and was followed by the man, who pushed her into the apartment.

The man proceeded to attack the woman with a stun gun, before her screams caused him to flee.

The attacker is described as a white man in his late 50s to early 60s with a heavy build and black and gray hair, according to police. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, dark blue jeans and sunglasses.

Police suspect that it is an isolated incident.
