Change leadership in Springfield

I had to laugh when I read Robert Kaempfe's Daily Herald questionnaire answers. He said new state representatives need to be elected to end the gridlock in Springfield.

I would remind Kaempfe that today in Springfield we have a Democrat governor, a Democrat-controlled House of Representatives and a Democrat-controlled Senate. They control all three levels of state approvals, yet they couldn't agree among themselves on how the budget should be managed.

He suggested that Springfield legislators were afraid to make difficult decisions. Republicans offered viable solutions that were blocked by Democrat leaders. The Republicans aren't the problem. In fact, this year Kaempfe's opponent, Rep. Mike Tryon, sponsored a “Truth in Accounting" bill that would have addressed the runaway spending culture in Illinois. Democratic leaders blocked the bill.

If you want a different result you need to change the leadership. Vote Republican and vote for Tryon on Nov. 2.
