Wheaton school honors grandparents
Will Brundage is in third grade at St. Michael Parish school in Wheaton. So perhaps "Grandparents Day" at the school is getting to be old hat.
Not to Will's grandparents, Bill and Barbara Dixon of Wheaton.
They attend every year, "We really love it. We haven't missed a one," said Bill Dixon.
Grandparents on Friday attended an all-school mass, then were invited to a light breakfast reception after which they were able to visit their grandchildren's classrooms.
"This is an opportunity for grandparents to spend some time with their grandchildren and see the things their grandchildren have been learning", said first-grade teacher Jan White. "It's important to encourage the relationship between children and their grandparents.
